Towson is the county seat of Baltimore County and home to Towson University. Rodgers Forge is known for its long rows of brick rowhouses built from the 1920s into the 1950s, and Stoneleigh has single family houses from the same era, many of them Tudor and colonial style. West Towson and Wiltondale add more houses from the first half of the 1900s.
Many of these homes were built with brick exteriors, plaster interiors, one or two bathrooms and basements with low ceilings. A Rodgers Forge rowhouse has a fixed width, so a kitchen or bathroom redesign has to fit inside it. Basements in older Towson houses often need moisture control and updated electrical work before they can be finished into usable rooms.
